Fleet Addendum — Customer (Employer) Duties
Last updated: 18 October 2026
1. Roles
The customer operates the fleet and employs or engages the drivers. For driver and vehicle-location data the customer is the controller (the employer deciding the purposes of the monitoring) and SepNets is its processor. Location monitoring of employees must meet the requirements of Israeli privacy law: written notice to drivers, a legitimate and proportionate purpose, and no tracking outside working hours.
2. Written driver notice (mandatory before activation)
2.1 Before activating tracking for a driver, the customer must give the driver written notice in Hebrew covering:
- the SepNets Driver app reports the phone's GPS location about every 10 minutes while tracking is active, to the employer's dispatch platform;
- the purposes of the tracking (dispatch, fleet operations, safety, maintenance);
- who can see the data (dispatchers and managers at the employer);
- the retention period of location history (deleted automatically after 10 days);
- the driver's rights: to access, correct and request deletion of the data, and to stop tracking at any time via the in-app privacy toggle;
- a contact for questions.
2.2 A ready-to-use Hebrew notice template is attached as Appendix A; the customer fills in the business name, working hours and contact details.
3. Lawful purpose and proportionality
3.1 The customer uses tracking only for legitimate fleet-management purposes: dispatch, driver and vehicle safety, maintenance, deliveries and the like.
3.2 The customer must not use tracking as covert surveillance, must not track drivers' private vehicles without a clear lawful basis, and must not use location data for unrelated purposes (for example performance profiling) without a fresh lawful basis.
4. Off-shift tracking; privacy mode
4.1 Tracking in the driver app is started by the driver and runs as a visible foreground service (a persistent notification); the driver can stop tracking at any time via the in-app privacy toggle. The customer must instruct drivers to enable tracking only during working hours / on duty, and must not require or incentivize tracking outside shifts.
4.2 The customer must not use technical means (device management, battery-optimization waivers or similar) to force tracking to run in the background outside the driver's control.
5. Retention of location history
5.1 GPS location history is deleted automatically after 10 days — a fixed period in the platform that applies to every customer; vehicle, driver and service records are kept while the subscription is active.
5.2 When a subscription ends, the customer's business data is deleted within 30 days of the customer's written request, handled manually together with the platform provider, and deletion is confirmed with the customer. Trial data is deleted on account deletion.
6. Driver data-subject requests
6.1 Drivers may send access, correction and deletion requests to their employer (the controller). The customer must handle them within 30 days and may direct export requests to SepNets at info@sepnets.io; SepNets assists as processor per the Data Processing Agreement.
6.2 If a driver complains to the Privacy Protection Authority about the tracking, the customer cooperates with the Authority as controller; SepNets assists within its role.
7. Vehicle data and third parties
Vehicle records, documents (invoices, delivery notes) and odometer data may contain personal data of other individuals (for example customers named in documents). The customer is responsible for a lawful basis for those too.
8. App-store disclosures
The driver app is Android only. The customer distributes it to drivers through SepNets' Google Play listing, which carries the background-location declaration and the in-app disclosure. The customer must not fork or redistribute the app outside that listing. If an iOS version is released, this addendum and the disclosures will be updated.
Appendix A. Driver written-notice template (Hebrew)
The operative notice for Israeli drivers is the Hebrew text below; the customer fills in the bracketed details and has the driver sign.
